Spending the Holidays Alone: a Survival Guide

It's the most wonderful time of the year... or, is it?
Sometimes being on your own is hard specially on those occasions when everyone is raving about their significant others, and even worse when you have to attend to a vast list of social events. Just when you were starting to cope with the fact that you are solo for a while, it seems like being alone this time of the year is not giving you the best feelings and you start to question your decisions.

But don't worry, there are plenty of things that you can enjoy on your own this time of the year.
Here are some things that will help you survive the Holidays while being alone.

Travel

Don't stay home alone! If you feel like you need to get away for a few days book a last minute cruise or plan a quick Europe Trip. You can also play tourist in your own city by booking a room at a local hotel and explore the places that you haven't gotten the chance to go so far.

Indulge yourself

That bag you wanted? Go an buy it! A good thing about being on your own is being able to splurge on your gifts. Go to the movies and go extra-large on the popcorn there are a lot of new movie releases during the Holiday Season. You can go to a concert, ice skate, to a fair... Whatever you do enjoy yourself.

Volunteer

It feels good to treat your self but it feels even better to serve others. Spending time with other people will also help you fight against loneliness. Serve food to the homeless, organize a toy or food drive. As the saying goes it is better to give than to receive.

 Read & Watch Series

Being on your own means that you can actually finish that book that you always seem to put away.
Grab a cozy blanket and a cup of hot cocoa and immerse into the book. Not a reading fan? Watch your favorite series or movie. As you are solo no one will complain about you watching Uptown Girls for the 104th time.

Whatever you do, enjoy the time you are spending on your own. Go for those things you love but hardly have time to do. Holidays are just days,  just  try to make every single day count!
